  To anyone planning a design/build landscape project, hire Earthscape. Seriously. After completing our project with Earthscape, we have recommended them to everyone we know looking to revamp their outdoor space. When my wife and I first purchased our home, the yard was overplanted and overgrown with so many different varieties of invasive and non-invasive trees, bushes, flowers, etc. It was a nightmare to maintain and, since the yard was not enclosed, it was unsafe for little ones to play in. We decided that it was time to gut the yard, hit the reset button, and create a functional outdoor space that we could enjoy with our friends and family. Our home is situated on a corner lot and has a walkout to a shallow backyard that turns into a wide, large side yard - it felt like two very distinct and separate spaces. Given the shape of our yard we had no idea how to best utilize the space, so we decided to look for a design-build landscape contractor to help us out. Earthscape came recommended from a friend. Although we were aware of the stellar work Earthscape had done for our friend, we decided to do our due diligence and reach out to a number of companies for a consultation. Of everyone we spoke to, Earthscape stood out above the rest. Where other companies shot down our ideas, or refused to show up without a deposit, Sam from Earthscape came to meet with us without hesitation and made an instant impression. From the moment we met him, we seemed to just click like old friends. Right off the bat, he was able to understand exactly what we were trying to achieve. He listened to our ideas, provided real and creative recommendations on what could or couldn’t work (and why), what options we had to save cost and how to make the space more functional. Not once did it feel like we were getting the typical sales pitch – Sam took the time to truly understand our personalities, sense of style, and overall needs that would help us achieve our project goals. Needless to say, we signed on right away. We began the design phase in the late spring/early summer of 2016 and were blown away with the final concept. Earthscape managed to creatively connect a once seemingly disconnected property and provided all the function, privacy, and style that we were looking for. I would have never thought to lay things out the way they did, but it just worked in the best possible way. Construction began shortly after in late August 2016. Earthscape's crew did an incredible job during this time. No matter the question or issue that came up, Earthscape was always quick to respond and address any problem quickly and properly. There was never a moment of struggle – Sam and his team were looking out for us and our best interests at all times. Not once did it feel like a “client-contractor” relationship; the Earthscape team were our partners and friends the whole way through. It made the entire process extremely enjoyable from start to finish! We now have an awesome yard that we all love. Thank you so much to Sam, Zac, Craig, Brian and the entire Earthscape team!

  We were very impressed with the performance of Earthscape. We were given their name by our landscape architect Sander Freedmand, and Kevin Foster dropped by within an hour to take a look at the job, which involved digging up the lawn, burying a pipe to catch the water from our downspout and carry it out through a hole that needed to be drilled in a stone wall. Not a big job but we needed to get the water away from the house foundations. Kevin got us the quote by the next day, it seemed reasonable so we gave him the go-ahead, the pipe was ordered and on the day promised the crew of two arrived and went to work. The quality of work was excellent and completed that same day, including good clean up. When we looked at the job in the fresh light of the next morning we thought that the end of the pipe visible at the wall needed a grill to prevent access to the pipe, so we phoned Kevin, and he had come to the same conclusion and was looking for something to cap the pipe and allow water to exit, and within a couple of days a cap was installed. We were very impressed, Kevin and his crew were great to work with, the quality of work was excellent, the job was done on time and the price was reasonable. If anything else needs to be done, Earthscape will be our first choice!

  Earthscape came recommend by our builder Milla Homes. We had contacted multiple landscape designers, of which Earthscape was one of the few to get back to us in a timely fashion. We had some early constructive meetings and brought them on board for the construction of our home (and yard). Earthscape was very professional and worked in parallel with our builder in completing different stages of the project as needed with neither party imposing on the other. This worked wonderfully for us as we could have some landscaping completed by the closing date which was important, as Earthscape put in our front entrance steps (as opposed to stock builder concrete steps which were required for grading/code purposes), along with some landscaping/retaining wall to help conceal a large grade drop-off for our front porch. As we both work, we preferred to be able to email back and forth ideas rather than needing to converse via phone calls constantly. Earthscape was able to quickly reply to us and understand what type of look we were looking for by looking at images of designs we liked. ‎Earthscape created a 360 degree rendering of the concept design (along with a video) to show us their vision. From there, we were pretty much sold on the high level concept, and we could delve further into the more specific details of how to get there. Earthscape basically became the general contractor co-ordinating irrigation/deck building/stone work/plantings/fencing along with working with a pool company (which they had recommended to us). The entire team at Earthscape were friendly, courteous, tidy and above all, professional. Both Zac and Sam, who we dealt with frequently, were always on track to keep the project on track (even when we were going a little nuts with house purchase + landscaping + pregnancy). When little things came up, like with all large projects, they were fast to let us know (and talk us off the ledge) and always had recommendations for us.
